My story
I'm taking part in The Big Lent Walk for CAFOD.
I am a walking miracle. I have stage 4 bowel cancer and have outlived a very grim prognosis. After 34 rounds of chemo, two life saving operations and a stoma, I am currently NED (No Evidence of Disease). I thank God every day for sparing me for my family. This walk is part of putting my gratitude into action to help others. Please sponsor me if you can.
CAFOD is the official Catholic aid agency for England and Wales. We work with partners across the world in 50 countries, wherever the need is greatest, to bring hope and compassion to poor communities, standing side by side with them to end poverty and injustice. We work with people of all faiths and none. We believe that if one of us is hurt, hungry or abandoned, we all are hurt, hungry and abandoned. No one should be beyond the love and support they need to live a dignified life.
Our local experts help some of the most difficult-to-reach people in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Whether it’s a single mother living in a remote area, a teenage boy living in a war zone, or a disabled father and daughter who are discriminated against, we help anyone regardless of faith, gender and ethnicity.
